    Parents, families, and guests can visit and use the Weinstein Center of Recreation during Family Weekend.

     

    Weinstein Learning Center Open House, 12:30 p.m.– 3:30 p.m. 

    Boatwright Library 212 - 2nd Floor Tower Entrance 

    Join the Weinstein Learning Center staff on the second floor of Boatwright Library for donuts, sweet drinks, and swag. Explore our services and multimedia project resources, view demonstrations and student projects, and chat with directors and student employees. Stop by to learn more about how we partner with students throughout their time at Richmond!

     

    Jumm’ah Prayer, 1 p.m.– 2 p.m. 

    Wilton Center - Multifaith Room 

    Muslim students, their parents, and guests are invited to attend Friday/Jumm’ah Prayer. Friday Prayer is a weekly congregational worship for Muslims. The regular dhuhr (midday) prayer on Friday is replaced by a khutbah (sermon) followed by prayer.

    The Bonner Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) prepares students for lives of purpose and connects student, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders in social change efforts that value the knowledge and potential in our communities. We envision that the University of Richmond will be a vital partner to a thriving Richmond region, catalyzing lifelong learning and civic engagement. CCE staff members and students will be on hand to talk about their own experiences in the Richmond community, including research into social and civic issues, academically grounded internships, and service.

    Students and families are welcome to attend the office of Disability Services Open House on Friday, September 13th from 2-4 p.m. Our office is located The Refectory suite 127. Attendees will be able to tour the Testing Center which is an optional resource for students and faculty to implement testing accommodation(s) that have been approved by our office. The Director of Disability Services, Dr. Cort Schneider, and Julia Kelly, Accessibility Specialist, look forward to chatting with you at this event. Refreshments and giveaways will be provided!

    Students and their loved ones are invited to join Jewish Life at UR to welcome Shabbat with candles, kiddush, and challah. We will hold a brief ritual to celebrate the arrival of Shabbat, followed by time to mingle over light appetizers.

     

    Department of Music’s Family Weekend Concert, 7:30 p.m.– 9 p.m. 

    Modlin Center for the Arts -  Booker Hall of Music - Camp Concert Hall

    Enjoy the talents of the Music Department’s large ensembles at this annual event, featuring Schola Cantorum, Jazz Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. 

    This concert is offered as part of the Department of Music Free Concert Series 2025-2026 Season. The Department of Music produces over 25 concerts annually featuring a broad range of styles and genres. Enjoy student recitals, faculty ensemble performances, and concerts created in collaboration with visiting artists.

    A-Cappella Concert

    Featuring Choeur du Roi, the Octaves, Off the Cuff, and the Sirens.

    Join all four student-led, University a cappella groups for a show for all ages. All proceeds benefit the student a cappella groups.

    Cannon Memorial Chapel 

    Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Cannon Memorial Chapel on Family Weekend Sunday. All are welcome.

    The Student Center for Equity & Inclusion and Spiders FLI is pleased to host Crepes and Crafts on Sunday, September 18 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Alice Haynes Room. Expierence the joy of community with or without your loved ones, while crafting and consuming crepes. 

    The craft stations will include - crocheting, painting, friendship bracelets, vision boards, cards, and more.
