Admission & Aid

You make this place what it is.

The University of Richmond is only as strong as the people who call it home. This strength is amplified by a community with varied backgrounds, passions, and talents.

That means we focus on the vibrancy and energy you bring with you — not your finances. After all, your family’s income says nothing of your character or ambition. Why should it have any bearing on our admission decisions?

We’re one of very few U.S. institutions that combine need-blind admission with a guarantee to meet 100% of demonstrated need. That’s a distinction to be proud of.

Aid Programs for Virginians

For academically qualified Virginia students with an annual parental income of $75,000 or less, the University will provide a grant-based financial aid package equal to full-time tuition, housing, and food.

And for students who graduate from Richmond Public Schools and public magnet schools (CodeRVA and Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School), the University ensures that graduates who qualify to attend UR can do so with a grant-based financial aid package that meets their full demonstrated need.
