WHAT'S NEW

Launch of Real-Time Data Research Center. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has just started a center for research using real-time data, and I am the interim director of the center. I'll work on the center on a very part-time basis to get it established, as the Fed looks for a permanent director. The core of the center's work is based on my own past research and the related research of other academic economists.  See the center's web site for more details.

Fall Textbooks: For Econ 272 Macroeconomic Theory: Abel, Bernanke, Croushore, Macroeconomics, 6th edition (Pearson/Addison Wesley) is required; the Study Guide for the textbook is optional. For Econ 200 Money, Banking, and Financial Markets: Croushore, Money and Banking: A Policy-Oriented Approach (Houghton Mifflin) is required; the Study Guide for the textbook is optional.

Frontiers of Real-Time Research

I have written a paper that discusses research on real-time economic data since 1955. The paper was prepared for the EABCN's conference on Using Euro Area Data. Read the paper here.

Paper on Data Revisions to PCE Price Indexes

I presented my paper "Revisions to PCE Inflation Measures: Implications for Monetary Policy" at the 2008 meeting of the American Economic Association; it was discussed in a couple of blog entries on the Wall St. Journal's web site. You can download the paper here.
