The Peer Advisors and Mentors program began at the
University of Richmond during the fall of 1992.

This program
is designed to:
- Help a cadre of first-year students (mentees) to be
able to make a smooth transition from high school to our
university setting
- Assist first-year students in being able to readily
identify mentors from among their peers
- Assist mentees in enhancing their leadership skills
All in all, the Peer Advisors and Mentors program is a
collaborative learning experience that assists with the
retention of first-year students through mentoring and
leadership.
