No Problem Is Too Big or Too Small

About 30% of undergraduates use CAPS services one or more times during their 4 years at the University. Common reasons students come to CAPS include relationship concerns, academic difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, family issues, traumatic events, eating problems, substance abuse, sleep disturbance, and adjusting to college. However, any issue of concern to a student is OK to discuss with a CAPS counselor. CAPS maintains a list of off-campus resources to refer students to when specialized services or longer-term counseling is needed.

NOTE: CAPS does not provide court-ordered treatment services.

Hours

CAPS is open for appointments from 8:30 am to 12 noon, and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday during the Fall and Spring academic terms. If urgent care is needed after hours, see mental health emergencies.

Fees

There is no charge for CAPS services. However, off-campus services (e.g., psychiatry, testing) are at the student's expense.

Confidentiality

CAPS services are confidential to the full extent allowed by law (see Informed Consent and Privacy Notice for additional information).

Accreditation

CAPS is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc.
