Rhetoric and Communication Studies The cultivation of humanity through the study and practice of human communication. Department Overview Communication scholars explore the creation of social realities, the nature of verbal and nonverbal signs and symbols, mediated communication, and the role of communicative behavior in all social contexts (from marriages to business transactions to political and legal debates and beyond).
