September 12, 2007
John Green, author of "Looking for Alaska" and "An Abundance of Katherines," will speak on "How We Are Connected" Sept. 27 at the University of Richmond.
Green's lecture is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Keller Hall. Admission is free, and the public is welcome.
Green won the 2006 Michael L. Printz Award for young adults' fiction, presented by the American Library Association, for "Looking for Alaska"—his first book. His second novel, "An Abundance of Katherines," was named an honor book in the 2007 Printz competition and a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
Green's talk is the Cathleen Mallaney Trees Memorial Lecture, a biannual event featuring distinguished authors of literature for children and young adults held in memory of a university English alumna who had a particular interest in the genre.
