Social Justice Activist to Speak at University of Richmond

Okianer Christian Dark, professor of law at Howard University, litigator and social justice activist, will speak on "Change Agents Within a Community: Becoming a Flea for Justice" at the University of Richmond Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. in Jepson Hall, room 118.
Dark is the second speaker in the 2004-05 speaker series sponsored by the Women Involved in Living and Learning (WILL) and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) programs. The lecture is free and open to the public. The WILL/WGSS programs are celebrating their 25th anniversary on campus with a seven-part speaker series titled "Interrogating Limits, Pushing Boundaries: Artists/Academics/Activists."
Dark focuses her work on fair housing, hate crimes, violence against women and environmental justice. She is committed to working with grassroots organizations and other community groups to effect social change and community revitalization.
