WILL students take part in Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build
A group of Women Involved in Living and Learning (WILL) students recently learned construction skills while helping a family obtain a new house.

They spent Feb. 12 participating in Richmond Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build, an initiative that brings women together to build Habitat houses. Women Build promotes the involvement of women in Habitat projects and provides an opportunity for women to learn construction in a supportive environment.

Working alongside the house’s future owner, WILL students helped build the foundation of a home in the Edgelawn section of eastern Henrico County. The experience was so rewarding that WILL students plan to make participation in Habitat’s Women Build an annual event.

Build It 2005 registration
Registration is now open for individuals who want to participate in Build It 2005. More than 1,000 “people shifts” are available for working on the Habitat for Humanity House April 4–9, and nearly 2,000 volunteers are needed to work at three Henrico County public schools April 9. Staff members will be given time off from work to volunteer for a shift. To register, visit the Build It Web site at http://www.student.richmond.edu/~buildit/.
