Haddock named Robins School of Business dean
Jorge Haddock was named the new dean of the Robins School of Business, effective July 1. Haddock formerly served as associate dean and professor of management science and information technology at the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. As associate dean, he also had responsibility for business operations and information services for the Lally School.
"Dr. Haddock's strong record of scholarship, teaching and administrative experience has prepared him to lead the Robins School as it continues to ascend in quality," President Bill Cooper said.
Haddock earned his Ph.D. at Purdue University and has an M.S. from Rensselaer and a B.S. from the University of Puerto Rico. He is a native of Puerto Rico and held academic positions at the University of Puerto Rico and at Clemson University before moving to Rensselaer in 1986.
Haddock is nationally recognized for his research on the design and implementation of effective information technology systems for production and business services, including evaluation of their effects on corporate culture. He has authored or co-authored more than 70 publications and has taught operations research, production planning and information technology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His research has been funded by NSF, NASA, Alcoa, General Motors, Kodak and RCA Corp.
Haddock has consulted for a wide variety of organizations including Citibank, CSX World Terminals, Baxter Pharmaceuticals, FIEMEX (Mexico) and Cedel (Luxembourg).
