Columbine memorial tree planted
Lindsey Cardwell, '09, of Evergreen, Colo., arranged for the planting of a dogwood tree on campus in memory of Daniel Mauser, one of 12 Columbine High School students killed during a shooting spree at the school in 1999. Cardwell received a one-time, $5,000 scholarship in Mauser's name from The Never Forgotten Fund, created by Clear Channel Communications Inc., following the tragedy.
A graduate of Colorado Academy, she won the scholarship for exemplifying volunteerism and leadership in her school and community. The tree is located near the intersection of Richmond Way and Lakeview Lane.
