Robert Alley, professor emeritus of humanities, was mentioned in an article on religious freedom in The Christian Science Monitor.

Sheila Carapico, professor of political science, was quoted in an article on Yemen's attempts to rein in outlaw tribes in The Christian Science Monitor.

Terryl Givens, professor of religion and literature, was quoted in the Denver Post in an article on "The Soul of a Church."

Doug Hicks, associate professor of leadership and religion, commented on companies hiring chaplains in articles in the Charlotte Observer and The Philadelphia Inquirer. He was also quoted on religion in the workplace in The New York Times.

Joan Neff, associate professor of sociology and criminal justice, appeared on "The Abrams Report" on MSNBC and was quoted in the New York Daily News about the murder of a Richmond family.

Eileen O'Brien, assistant professor of sociology, was quoted in an article on diversity and race relations in the Dallas Morning News.

Rod Smolla, dean of the School of Law, was quoted in The New Yorker in an article on requiring journalists to name their sources.

Carl Tobias, professor of law, was quoted on the domestic surveillance program in Los Angeles Times, Baltimore Sun, The Washington Post, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle as well as on the UPI wire service and Bloomberg.com.

His comments on Samuel Alito's nomination and hearings appeared in National Law Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, The Chicago Tribune and on the Associated Press wire and Bloomberg.com.

Tobias' quotes on intelligent design were published by Los Angeles Times, Kansas City Star, Houston Chronicle and USA Today.

He commented on the Jose Padilla case for Miami Daily Business Review, Baltimore Sun, Los Angeles Times and New York Sun. He commented on bird flu for American Health Line and Los Angeles Times and the Blackberry case for The New York Times and Ventura County Star.
