Ronald Bacigal, professor of law, was quoted in The Washington Post in an article about a slaying suspect's admission.

Scott Davis, professor of religion, was quoted in an article on the battle over Christmas in The Virginian-Pilot.

Uliana Gabara, dean of international education, was featured in an article about study abroad in The Virginian-Pilot.

Terryl Givens, professor of religion and literature, was quoted in the Deseret Morning News (Salt Lake City, Utah) about Mormon founder Joseph Smith's fame.

An article co-authored by Craig Kinsley appeared in the January 2006 edition of Scientific American. It concerned his ongoing research about changes to the brains of rats and other mammals after they have given birth. Kinsley also appeared in a segment about the research on ABC's "World News Tonight."

Andy Lewis, visiting assistant professor of leadership studies, commented for NPR's "Morning Edition" on the appointment of an African-American as executive editor of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

John Moeser, visiting fellow at the Center for Civic Engagement, was quoted in The Virginian-Pilot in an article on Virginia mayors' hopes for governor-elect Tim Kaine.

James Rettig, University librarian, was quoted in an article about Wikipedia in the Chicago Tribune.

Rod Smolla, dean of the School of Law, was quoted by the Associated Press in an article about a new course on Indian law to be taught at Richmond. The New York Times quoted him in an article on prolonging a leak investigation.

Carl Tobias, professor of law, was quoted on the Merck-Vioxx case in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Chicago Tribune, Houston Chronicle, Financial Times, the Associated Press and Forbes.com and on Bloomberg Radio and NPR's "Marketplace" and "Day to Day" programs. He was quoted by the Associated Press on the Jose Padilla and Blackberry cases and by Boston.com and NPR about the Philip Morris judgment. The Miami Herald, The New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The Guardian, Miami.com, MercuryNews.com and NPR's "Morning Edition" quoted him about the Jose Padilla case.

USA Today quoted Tobias in an article on wiretap cases, and he was quoted on intelligent design by the Contra Costa Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Associated Press.

The Philadelphia Inquirer, The New York Times, The Kansas City Star, The Miami Herald, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, San Jose Mercury News, Saint Paul Pioneer Press and others quoted Tobias on the Bush-NSA domestic eavesdropping disclosure. The Miami Herald quoted Tobias in articles on the Blackberry case and a tobacco industry trial. The Philadelphia Inquirer and San Jose Mercury News carried Tobias' quotes in articles about Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito.

Vincent Wei-cheng Wang, associate professor of political science and international studies, was quoted in an article on Beijing's stance on democracy and Bush's tone on China in Financial Times.
