Ronald Bacigal, professor of law, was quoted in The Virginian-Pilot in an article on special grand jury use.

David Esleck, adjunct assistant professor of music, was featured in an article on the revival of piano in pop music in an article in the Omaha World-Herald.

Joseph Essid, director of the writing center, had his letter to the editor printed in The Chronicle of Higher Education. It concerned disengaged students.

Don Forsyth, professor of leadership studies, was quoted in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution article on why people hate to wait in lines.

Gerard Gilfoyle, professor of physics, was quoted in an article in The Tampa Tribune about nuclear terror scenarios.

Doug Hicks, associate professor of leadership and religion, discussed company chaplains in an article in the Bergen County (N.J.) Record.

Gary McDowell, professor of leadership, political science and law, was quoted in the New York Times Higher Education Supplement on a book by Justice Stephen Bryer.

Dan Palazzolo, associate professor of political science, commented in an article on Tom DeLay in the St. Petersburg Times.

Erin Sahlstein, assistant professor of communication studies, was quoted in an article on long distance relationships in academia in an article in the New York Times Education Supplement.

Robert Shepherd, professor of law emeritus, was featured in an article on the crackdown on young suspects in the Detroit Free Press.

Rod Smolla, dean of the law school, was quoted in an article in the New York Times on discrimination in ads on the Internet. He also commented for an article on ethics for Editor & Publisher magazine and about teachers and free speech in the Los Angeles Times.

Porcher Taylor, associate professor of paralegal studies, was quoted in an article on Space.com about the anomaly on Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey that some believe is Noah's ark.

Carl Tobias, professor of law, was quoted on the Moussaoui trail in the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, Newsday and Associated Press. He commented on the domestic surveillance program for The Christian Science Monitor, Bloomberg.com and The New York Times.com. His comments on the Merck Vioxx trial appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Newsday and Washington Post. Financial Times carried his comments on U.S. patent laws, and The Washington Post quoted him on Gov. Tim Kaine's executive order banning discrimination against gay men and lesbians in the state workforce. His quotes on the Supreme Court and abortion appeared in the New York Daily News. The Associated Press carried his comments on the Padilla case, a ruling against Philip Morris and the partial-birth abortion ban. The Wall Street Journal quoted him on the Philip Morris case, and he was interviewed on NPR's "All Things Considered" on the CIA-leak case. He also appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle about the Patriot Act.
