Carole and Marcus Weinstein examine a gemstone-encrusted globe presented to them by the University following the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Carole Weinstein International Center. Carole Weinstein, Richmond alumna and former trustee, donated $9 million for construction of the building, which will be a $20.4 million, 57,000-square-foot facility. It will house the Office of International Education, which coordinates study-abroad and international exchange programs, as well as several academic departments and interdisciplinary programs focused on international issues or whose work offers a global perspective.
Another groundbreaking was held in the fall for the Westhampton Center, and a kick-off celebration was held to launch work on the new campus stadium.
