Dr. Edward Ayers, president, was quoted about a new book published by Drew Gilpin Faust, president of Harvard University, in The Harvard Crimson. His review of the book appeared in The Chronicle of Higher Education. Star News noted that he was one of 12 scholars who met to decide the fate of Fort Monroe.

Dr. Dean Croushore, associate professor of economics and Rigsby Fellow, was quoted about consumer confidence in The Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Journal (Asia) and Conde Nast Portfolio. His comments about the credit crunch in the mortgage business appeared in KnowledgePlex. Wall Street Journal Online quoted him in an article about forecasting revisions to inflation data and mentioned his research in an article about inflation and the consumer price index.

Carl Tobias, professor of law, wrote an op-ed about Alex Kozinski, the new chief judge of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, published in the Los Angeles Times.
