Board elects officers, new members

University of Richmond’s Board of Trustees recently elected a new rector, vice rector and five members of the board.

George W. Wellde Jr.George W. Wellde Jr. of New York is rector. Wellde, vice chairman of fixed income, currency and commodities with the investment banking firm Goldman Sachs and Co., has served on the board since 2000. He is chair of the advancement committee and a cabinet member of the Transforming Bright Minds capital campaign. Wellde holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Richmond and a master’s of business administration from George Washington University. His son graduated from Richmond May 14.

Susan G. QuisenberryThe board elected Susan G. Quisenberry of Richmond vice rector. Quisenberry is a principal with Quisenberry & Warren Ltd., a management consulting firm specializing in information technology management. She has been a member of the board since 2001 and also served a previous term. She was the first president of the University of Richmond Alumni Association, formed in 2003 following the merger of the Richmond College, Westhampton College and Robins School of Business alumni associations. Quisenberry earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Richmond.

Elected members of the board were:

R. Lewis BoggsR. Lewis Boggs of Richmond, president of Property Investment Advisors, which provides real estate investment management services to endowment funds and foundations. He was a partner of Laveer Properties, developer of CentrePointe in Chesterfield County, Va. Boggs earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Old Dominion University and a master’s of business administration from Richmond.

 

Thomas E. CappsThomas E. Capps of Richmond, chairman of the board and recently retired CEO of Dominion Resources Inc., one of the country’s largest producers of energy, serving the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. He holds bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of North Carolina and an honorary doctor of commercial science from Richmond.

 

Susan Huske Moomaw HumphrevilleSusan Huske Moomaw Humphreville of Los Angeles, founding partner, owner and CFO of Target Media Partners, one of the fastest growing advertising publishers in the United States. Humphreville began her career as a financial analyst in Richmond. She holds a B.S.B.A. degree in finance from Richmond and a master’s of business administration from Harvard University.

 

Patricia L. LebowPatricia L. Lebow of West Palm Beach, Fla., managing partner of the West Palm Beach office of the law firm Broad and Cassel and a member of the firm’s executive committee. Lebow has been practicing civil law for more than 30 years, after earning her undergraduate degree from Boston College and her law degree from the University of Miami. She is the parent of a Richmond junior.

 

William K. Slate IIWilliam K. Slate II, president and CEO of the American Arbitration Association in New York, the largest provider of conflict management services worldwide. Before joining the association, Slate was president of the Justice Research Institute, an interdisciplinary research and management consulting firm for courts and legal institutions, which he founded. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University, a law degree from Richmond and a master’s of business administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
