Contemporary Artist and University of Richmond alumna featured in PBS documentary, "Art:21—Art in the Twenty-First Century"

University of Richmond alumnus Jennifer Allora will be profiled in the Nov. 10 episode of the award-winning PBS documentary series, "Art:21-Art in the Twenty-First Century."

The program will feature Allora's works completed in collaboration with Guillermo Calzadilla, a fellow artist. Allora and Calzadilla's work emphasizes art as a catalyst for social change.

Now in its fourth season, the series focuses on American contemporary visual art and artists. Check local listings for date and time of the broadcast.

Allora majored in studio art and graduated from Richmond with a bachelor of arts degree in 1996. She also earned a master of science degree in visual studies from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2003. Allora was an independent study student at the Whitney Museum of American Art from 1998-1999. She and Calzadilla have collaborated and won awards for various projects since 1995. Several major exhibitions, including the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago and Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, have shown their works. Both artists live in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
