Connect Richmond Launches New Event-Planning Tool for Nonprofits

January 17, 2006

Connect Richmond, a Web-based information clearinghouse at the University of Richmond, has launched a new tool to serve nonprofit organizations in the greater Richmond area.

The new service is a list for event planners so they can exchange information and schedule benefits and major events without overlapping on dates being used by other organizations.

“About half of the messages on Connect Richmond check dates for nonprofits trying to schedule events,” said Nancy Stutts, director of the Connect Networks. “The need for this information is obviously critical.” Connect Richmond members can join the events list by going to http://mail.connectnetwork.org/.

“We are also developing a calendar application that will assist event planners,” said Stutts.

Connect Richmond, established in 2001 and managed by the Jepson School of Leadership Studies, helps inform and unite nonprofit leaders and their volunteers. Its Web site includes information about nonprofits as well as advice and resources on how to maintain or start a nonprofit organization.
