Former Health Secretary to Deliver Speech in Series on American Presidency

Louis W. Sullivan, host of the public television series “Frontiers of Medicine,” will discuss what he sees as the critical state of American health care at the University of Richmond Feb.10.

Sullivan was secretary of health and human services during the George H.W. Bush administration, 1989–93. He also is the founder and president of Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta.

Sullivan’s speech will begin at 7 p.m. in the Jepson Alumni Center. It is part of the Jepson Leadership Forum, which is looking at the American presidency. The series is sponsored by the Jepson School of Leadership Studies. Tickets are free and available by calling the box office at (804) 289-8980.

Tickets also are available for the next event in the series, a speech by Donna Brazile, Al Gore’s campaign manager for the 2000 presidential election. Brazile will address the state of the Democratic Party as well as the tenor of the 2004 election and citizen participation in the electoral process.
