Author Paul Loeb Will Highlight Jepson School Sept. 11 Activities at the University of Richmond

Author Paul Loeb will speak at Sept. 11 commemorative events sponsored by the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond and the Pew Partnership for Civic Change.

Loeb will lecture on "Soul of a Citizen: Working for Justice in the World of 9/11" on Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Modlin Center for the Arts. Tickets are free but required. Call 289-8980.

Earlier that day, Loeb will take part in a discussion on "9/11: Living a Life that Matters/ Reflections on Citizenship and Change" at 4 p.m. in the Jepson Alumni Center.

Loeb is author of two books: "Soul of a Citizen: Living with Conviction in a Cynical Time" and "Generation at the Crossroads: Apathy and Action on the American Campus." He has spent the last 30 years researching and writing about citizen responsibility.

Discussion facilitators will be Suzanne Morse, executive director of the Pew Partnership for Civic Change, and Kenneth Ruscio, dean of the Jepson School. Panelists will include Robert L. Corcoran, national director of Hope in the Cities; Charlene Peters, executive director, IVNA (Instructive Visiting Nurse Assoc.); Michael A.
