University of Richmond Class to Sponsor Rent a Pet to Assist Richmond Animal League
April 17, 2006
A variety of dogs, from puppies to full-grown labs, will be available for short-term rental during “Rent a Pet,” a fundraiser on the University of Richmond campus April 21 to benefit Richmond Animal League.
Dogs will be located on the Westhampton College side of Tyler Haynes Commons from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. For a donation to RAL, “renters” may take a dog for a portion of the day for fun, walking or just cuddling. Dogs may not be taken off campus. A limited number of dogs will be available, and leashes will be provided.
Rent a Pet is a project of a group of students in Nancy Stutts’ “Leadership and Philanthropy” class.
Richmond Animal League is located in Chesterfield County and is the area’s oldest nonprofit, no-kill humane society. RAL provides care and shelter for stray animals until they can be placed in permanent homes.
