University of Richmond to honor John Milton's 400th birthday with night-long reading of "Paradise Lost"

In celebration of John Milton's 400th birthday, the University of Richmond will host a night-long reading of the author's classic work, "Paradise Lost," Oct. 25 at Whitehurst Hall.
Sponsored by Louis Schwartz, professor of English at the university, and students studying Milton and his work, the reading will begin at 7:30 p.m. and continue through dawn the following day. The community is invited to participate and attendees are encouraged to bring their own copies of the book.
Originally published in 1667, Milton's work explores the Judeo-Christian story of the temptation of man. Milton's birthday is Dec. 9.
