James A. Morris Receives Professional Catering Certification

The National Association of Catering Executives has designated James A. Morris, assistant director of dining services and director of catering at the University of Richmond, a certified professional catering executive.

Morris received the certification after completing a five-hour exam at NACE's national conference in Boston last summer. The exam covered industry standards and competencies for caterers in such areas as food and beverage knowledge, event practices, marketing, accounting, human resources, labor and union relations, food safety and sanitation.

Morris is a member of the Washington, D.C., chapter of NACE and is the only person in the Richmond area with CPCE certification.

He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
