University of Richmond Installs John Earl as David Meade White Distinguished Teaching Fellow
October 7, 2003
The University of Richmond's Robins School of Business installed John H. Earl Jr., associate professor of finance, as the David Meade White Distinguished Teaching Fellow on Sept. 30, 2003.
Nancy Grandis White and other family members and friends established the fellowship in 2001 to honor members of the business school's faculty who have shown exemplary commitment to students' total education over many years. A fellow must be a person who has high standards, views education holistically and has educated students to become good citizens, as well as good business leaders.
Earl has taught at the Robins School since 1981. He earned BSBA and MSBA degrees in finance from the University of Massachusetts and a Ph.D. in finance from Arizona State University. He teaches security analysis and portfolio management, corporate finance and technical analysis at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also is faculty advisor for the Spider Fund, a portfolio of stocks within the university's endowment managed by a group of undergraduate finance majors.
