November 13, 2003
Gov. Mark Warner and the Virginia Council for International Education will honor more than 180 of Virginia's international students and faculty at a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 17 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
Virginia Secretary of Education Belle Whelan will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon, which will follow activities in the State Capitol that are part of Governor's International Education Day. The day was instituted to promote an awareness of the benefits of international education and study abroad programs in Virginia.
About 200 students and faculty from more than 20 colleges and universities including the University of Richmond are expected to attend.
In the morning, the students will tour the State Capitol and visit offices of General Assembly delegates and senators.
