University of Richmond Installs Dean Croushore as Rigsby Fellow in Economics

November 14, 2003

The University of Richmond's Robins School of Business installed Dean D. Croushore, associate professor of economics, as the Rigsby Fellow in Economics on Nov. 5, 2003.

Robert E. Rigsby, a 1971 graduate of the university and a trustee, established the fellowship in 2002 to attract a distinguished scholar with a commitment to and demonstrated ability for teaching and scholarship.

Croushore came to the university from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, where he was vice president and economist. His duties included heading the macroeconomics group, briefing the bank's president and board of directors on the state of the economy, providing advice on formulating monetary policy, administering two national surveys of forecasters and researching current issues in monetary policy.

His recent research has focused on forecasting and how data revisions affect monetary policy.

He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from The Ohio State University and an A.B. from Ohio University. He has taught at Princeton, Penn State, Johns Hopkins, the Wharton School and Temple. He co-authored a textbook on macroeconomics and is author of a textbook on money and banking to be published in 2004.
