University of Richmond senior named Omicron Delta Kappa's Region I Leader of the Year

May 14, 2009

A University of Richmond senior has been selected by a national leadership honor society as its Region I Leader of the Year.

Rebecca Frazier of Charlottesville Va., has received the recognition from Omicron Delta Kappa, which invites students into membership for superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character.

Frazier served as president of her campus chapter for the 2008-09 academic year. Under her leadership, it completed a highly successful membership drive, provided Christmas gifts to more than 80 children and arranged a lunch to promote communication between faculty and student leaders. She also led the chapter's effort to raise the school spirit and community service of Richmond students.

Frazier received her bachelor's degree in psychology May 10. She has served as a departmental fellow, teaching lab sections of introductory classes, and has received several research grants from the university and outside sources. She worked as an intern with Lakeview Virginia NeuroCare Inc. in Charlottesville.

Frazier will now compete with the three other ODK regional winners from around the country for the General Russell E. Dougherty National Leader of the Year Award.
