Connect Northern Neck Launches E-mail List
May 3, 2005
Connect NorthernNeck, a Web-based resource center serving nonprofit organizations in the Northern Neck of Virginia, has launched phase one of its operations—an e-mail list that will link people who share local concerns and opportunities.
The e-mail list will “position communities to maintain a high quality of life for all citizens by sharing information that will build knowledge and help garner volunteers and other resources that organizations acting individually cannot attract,” said Nancy Stutts, director of The Connect Network at the University of Richmond. The university is developing the site with a $220,000 grant from The Jessie Ball duPont Fund. It will be modeled after ConnectRichmond, which serves nonprofit organizations in the Richmond area.
Eventually the project will include a Web site offering data, information about issues, and tools to better manage nonprofit organizations. Networking and educational opportunities also will be offered.
