May 18, 2005
The Lucius N. Littauer Foundation of New York has awarded the University of Richmond a $15,000 grant to create the Lucius N. Littauer Foundation Judaica Book Fund in support of the university’s Jewish Studies program.
One-third of the grant can be used for immediate acquisitions by Boatwright Memorial Library, and the balance will endow the future purchase of additional materials.
Coordinator of the university’s Jewish Studies minor, Kathrin Bower, said, “The Judaica Book Fund will enable expansion of the library’s materials relevant to existing Jewish Studies courses and add others to support development of new courses and encourage faculty and student research.”
The Littauer Foundation makes grants to universities to promote faculty and student research in Jewish studies.
