Jepson School of Leadership Studies Students Seek Proposals for Community Service Project

May 26, 2004

Students at the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond, along with faculty and staff from the school, are willing to work for seven months on a winning community service project from among proposals submitted by Richmond-area nonprofit agencies.

The deadline for proposals is June 4. Students will complete the work between Sept. 1, 2004, and March 31, 2005.

The goal is to meet an important community need while increasing Jepson's interaction with the surrounding community and providing students an opportunity to practice in real-world settings.

Last year's winning project was a partnership with Jack and Jill of America on a national pilot program for teen leaders. The Jepson School developed curriculum and provided mentors and instructors for the Jack and Jill Teen Leadership Institute.

Proposals may be submitted via email to Jepson@richmond.edu or by fax (804-287-6062). For further information and a proposal form, go to oncampus.richmond.edu/academics/leadership/ or call Teresa J. Williams, associate dean, at (804) 287-6082.
