PROGRAM INFORMATION:
The Shanghai Quartet, which recently celebrated its 10th year as
quartet-in-residence at the University of Richmond, concludes the
fourth annual Modlin Summer Music series with this classical concert.
Guest performers violinist Arnold Steinhardt, a founding member
of the Guarneri String Quartet, and pianist Rieko Aizawa join the
quartet in performing Ernest Chausson's "Concerto in D"
for piano, violin and string quartet. The program also includes
Schumann's "Faschingsschwank aus Wien (Carnival Jest from Vienna),
Op.26" and Barber's "String Quartet, Op.11."
