Winston Churchill scholar to discuss the leader's flaws April 7 at University of Richmond

Christopher Catherwood, a British author who teaches history at Cambridge University, will discuss his newest book, "Winston Churchill: the Flawed Genius of World War II," at the University of Richmond April 7 at 4 p.m. in room 305 of Tyler Haynes Commons. The event is free and open to the public.
Catherwood, a Churchill scholar and an annual summer visiting professor at the University of Richmond, will discuss the decisions and policies Churchill made during the war that he says destabilized several regions and extended the conflict. The author of several books on religion, this is Catherwood's second book on Churchill.
A former consultant to Tony Blair's Strategic Futures Team, Catherwood was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2005 for his religious and historical non-fiction work. In 2001 he was a Rockefeller Fellow at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. He teaches 20th century history and church history.
