Environmental Justice Series ends 2006-07 with "Appalachian Activism"

A musician, a poet and a storyteller will combine their creative talents to promote activism in the final installment of the 2006-07 WILL/WGSS/Richmond Quest Environmental Justice Speakers Series April 12 at 7p.m. in the Alice Haynes Room of Tyler Haynes Commons.
Kate Larken, Rema Keen and Patricia Johnson will present "Appalachian Activism," addressing issues of land, class, racism, violence against women, sexual identity and their identities as Appalachian women. Their artistry promotes and supports diverse cultures, sustainable living, environmental justice and grassroots organizing.
The Environmental Justice speaker series is presented by the Women Involved in Living and Learning (WILL), Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) program, and Richmond Quest.
