Organ donation executive to speak at Jepson Leadership Forum
March 8, 2007
Questions of medicine and morality will be explored by Walter K. Graham, executive director, president and CEO of the Richmond-based United Network for Organ Sharing Foundation (UNOS) March 29 as part of the University of Richmond's Jepson Leadership Forum.
Graham will speak at 4 p.m. in Jepson Hall, Room 118. The forum is sponsored by the Jepson School of Leadership Studies and is free and open to the public. The speech was postponed from an earlier date due to weather conditions. The lecture is sponsored by the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation.
Few organizations grapple more intimately with how the application of growing medical knowledge poses moral dilemmas than does UNOS, a national clearinghouse for organ donations and allocation. Graham oversees the organization's core mission, increasing and ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency and equity of organ sharing and increasing the supply of donated organs available for transplantation.
Seating is limited for this event. To reserve a seat and to receive a parking pass and directions, call (804) 297-1960 or e-mail Jepson@richmond.edu.
