Presidential Search Committee Holds Open Forum
March 3, 2006
The committee leading the search for the next president of the University of Richmond heard suggestions from more than 20 speakers at an open forum March 2.
An audience of around 70 people—a mix of students, faculty, staff and alumni—listened as the speakers told the Presidential Search Committee the qualities they think Richmond’s next president should possess.
Suggestions ranged from being “a good communicator and listener” to possessing “strong leadership skills.”
Current Richmond President William E. Cooper announced in January his decision to step down on June 30, 2007 following nine years of distinguished service.
