University of Richmond Dean is President-Elect of International Education Organization

Uliana Gabara, dean and Carole M. Weinstein Chair of International Education at the University of Richmond, has been elected vice-president/president-elect of the Association of International Education Administrators.
She was elected at the organization’s annual meeting last month in Washington, D.C. AIEA brings together chief international officers at U.S. colleges and universities. It supports and promotes internationalization, establishes benchmarks and best practices and serves as an advocate for international education on the local, state and national levels.
Beyond that, AIEA is strategically involved with sister organizations around the world, including the European Association for International Education and the Japanese Association for Foreign Study, among others.
In addition to serving on the executive board, Gabara as vice president/president-elect will be responsible for next year’s annual conference at San Diego, Calif., Feb. 22-25, and will serve as president during her second year and past president the third year.
