Blood Drive in Memory of University of Richmond Police Sergeant Scheduled for March 24

A blood drive in memory of university police Sgt. John W. Russell will be held March 24 from 2-7 p.m. in Tyler Haynes Commons at the University of Richmond. Sgt. Russell died from cancer in January 2003.

Nancy Deane, spokesperson for Virginia Blood Services, says that low blood supplies typically occur in March and April and that this year is no exception. Virginia Blood Services is the sole provider of blood products to Richmond-area hospitals, she said.
