University of Richmond's James MacGregor Burns to Speak at Library of Virginia

James MacGregor Burns, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award and senior fellow at the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond, will discuss his new book, "Transforming Leadership: A New Pursuit of Happiness" at the Library of Virginia March 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Burns is author of numerous books, including "Leadership," which became the cornerstone of the emerging field of leadership studies. His new book explores how leaders move from being "deal-makers" to become agents of major social change who empower their followers.
It includes Burns' plan to use leadership to solve the problem of global poverty, which he says is the greatest leadership challenge of the 21st century.
