Georgetown College Honors University of Richmond Dean Stephen D. Bisese

March 31, 2003

Georgetown College in Georgetown, Ky., has named a room in its new Fitness and Recreation Center after Stephen D. Bisese, dean of the University of Richmond's Richmond College.

Bisese, who was vice president for student life and dean of students at Georgetown before coming to Richmond last summer, was honored for his years of service to Georgetown and for the impact he had on students' lives there.

The Steve Bisese Lounge, which will be used for social functions, has a big-screen TV, billiard and Foosball tables and a small exercise area. Bisese said in 1995 that the next Georgetown building should be a fitness center. His support encouraged students to seek trustee approval for it. Bisese last month was one of the speakers at dedications ceremonies for the $2.2 million building.

Bisese earned a bachelor of business administration degree and educational specialist and doctor of education degrees at The College of William and Mary. He also earned a master's degree in college student personnel at the University of Tennessee.
