University of Richmond Dean to Serve as Chair of Heartwalk 2002
March 8, 2002
James L. Narduzzi, dean of the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Richmond, will serve as chair for Heartwalk 2002, an event sponsored by the Richmond Chapter of the American Heart Association.
Serving as vice chair will be Bill Hall, vice president for external affairs and corporate communications at Dominion Virginia Power, according to Richmond AHA. Presenting sponsor will be Ukrop's Pharmacy.
"We are delighted that three of Richmond's most prominent corporate citizens, Ukrop's, the University of Richmond and Dominion Virginia Power have joined forces in support of this critical event," commented Linda Vines, vice president of corporate relations for Richmond AHA.
An estimated 13,000 walkers representing more than 100 companies will participate in the walk Oct. 12 at Byrd Park. Sponsors hope to raise more than the $717,000 the event raised last year.
"Heartwalk represents the community service component of the 40th anniversary celebration for the School of Continuing Studies," Narduzzi said. "We hope to galvanize the more than 1,200 School of Continuing Studies alumni and 1,000 School of Continuing Studies students into supporting this worthy cause."
