University of Richmond Names Anne B. Kerr Next Vice President for Advancement

The University of Richmond has named Anne B. Kerr to succeed D. Chris Withers as vice president for advancement. The senior administrative position oversees the university's alumni affairs, communications, development and foundation-government grants operations.
Kerr presently serves as vice president for institutional advancement at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. At Rollins, she led a recent capital campaign that raised $160 million, concluded two years early and exceeded its goal by $60 million.
Kerr will assume her new position in July, following Withers' retirement at the end of the current academic year.
"Dr. Kerr offers exceptional talent and energy to lead Richmond's advancement efforts," said university President William E. Cooper. "She will be a great asset to the university and to the greater Richmond community."

Kerr joined Rollins in 1983 as assistant dean of its Crummer Graduate School of Business. In 1995, she was named assistant vice president for development. She was appointed vice president for institutional advancement in 1998. She is also founding president of the Rollins College Center for Philanthropy and Non-Profit Leadership.
Before joining Rollins, Kerr was assistant dean of students at the University of Central Florida and educational analyst with the state of Florida's Board of Regents. She holds a doctorate and master's degree from Florida State University and a bachelor's degree from Mercer University.
Kerr served on the State of Florida Board of Dance and as past president of the Southern Ballet Theater/City of Orlando Guild and the Orlando Economics Club. She also has been involved with United Arts, Leadership Orlando, Coeur de Coeur (American Heart Association) and Junior League of Orlando.
She is married to Roy Kerr and has an eight-year-old son, Eddie. Roy Kerr, a professor at Rollins College, will join the University of Richmond faculty in the department of modern languages.
