FORMER CLINTON NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER TO SPEAK AT THE UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND

Anthony Lake, former national security adviser for President Clinton, will speak on "America's Changing Roles in the New Century" on March 27 at the University of Richmond.

Lake's speech, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Alice Haynes Room of the Tyler Haynes Commons. A reception will follow.

Lake, who was assistant to President Clinton for national security affairs from 1993 to January 1997, is distinguished professor in the practice of diplomacy at Georgetown University. He also is chairman of Intellibridge Corp., a company that delivers open source intelligence briefs and expert opinion to businesses.

Lake is author of "Six Nightmares," "Somoza Falling" and "The 'Tar Baby' Option: American Policy Toward Southern Rhodesia." He is co-author of "Our Own Worst Enemy: The Unmaking of American Foreign Policy" and contributing editor of "Legacy of Vietnam: The War, American Society, and the Future of U.S. Foreign Policy."
