June 26, 2009
The Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond will host "Strategic Leadership and Social Media for Social Good" July 24 at the University of Richmond.
The conference is for leaders and decision-makers of nonprofits and government agencies.
Keynoter Gradon Tripp founded the Boston-based group Social Media for Social Change, an organization bringing the social media community together to raise awareness for worthy causes. He will discuss how to leverage changes in new and social media for fundraising.
Other speakers include Nancy B. Stutts, executive director of The Connect Network; Jepson Dean Sandra J. Peart; Jon Newman, partner, The Hodges Partnership; and Cynthia Price, communications director of the Christian Children's Fund. The program also includes a panel discussion and table-top conversations with experts during lunch.
The morning conference is free, with registration restricted to one representative per nonprofit or government organization. The buffet lunch and table discussions cost $18. The registration deadline is July 17 or when the conference reaches capacity.
The event is hosted by the Jepson School and the university's Office of Communications. For more information, e-mail jepson@richmond.edu or call 804-287-6522.
