June 27, 2006

Kathryn Kransdorf, a 2006 graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law, has placed third in a writing competition sponsored by the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice section.

Kransdorf, of East Berlin, Conn., entered her paper “Can You Hear Me Now? Protecting Patients and Anesthesiologists against Anesthesia Awareness.”

Kransdorf served as managing editor of the law school’s Journal of Law & Technology. She placed second in the 2005 McNeil Writing Competition and served as treasurer of the McNeil Law Society. She also chaired the academic affairs committee of the University of Richmond Student Bar Association.

The TIPS law student writing competition is open to all law students in good standing over the age of 18 who are attending an ABA-accredited law school in the United States. Participants must be members of the ABA law student division at the time the entry is submitted. The Tort Trial and Insurance Practice section is the only national professional group to bring together plaintiffs’ lawyers, defense lawyers and insurance and corporate counsel for the exchange of information and ideas.
