Jeffress Trust makes six awards to University of Richmond faculty

The Thomas F. Jeffress and Kate Miller Jeffress Memorial Trust of Richmond has made two new awards and four renewal awards to faculty members at University of Richmond. The awards provide summer research support for faculty and their students.

Laura Runyen-Janecky, assistant professor of biology, will receive a $30,000 one-year award for "Characterization of Intracellular Adaptation Genes in the Tsetse Fly Secondary Endosymbiont Sodalis glossinidius."

Amy Treonis, assistant professor of biology, will receive a $26,500 one-year award for "Nematode Community Structure and Trophic Interactions in Agricultural Soils Amended with Cover Crops."

One-year renewal awards of $10,000 each will go to Jonathan Dattelbaum, assistant professor of chemistry; Wade Downey, assistant professor of chemistry; Carol Parish, associate professor of chemistry; and John Warrick, assistant professor of biology.
