Elena Featherston to Speak on Affirmative Action at University of Richmond

Elena Featherston, a founding member of the Institute for Multiracial Justice who lectures and gives seminars internationally about issues of race and gender, will speak Feb. 5 on "Women, Race and Work: Affirmative Action in Women's Lives" at the University of Richmond.
Featherston's talk will focus on the historical context of affirmative action and challenges to it in contemporary society. The talk, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in room 118 of Jepson Hall. The program is part of the series, "Beyond 9 to 5: Women, Men and Work," sponsored by the university's Women Involved in Living and Learning and the women's studies program.
