NPR'S "PERFORMANCE TODAY" TO BROADCAST SERGIO AND ODAIR ASSAD PERFORMANCE RECORDED AT MODLIN CENTER

National Public Radio's "Performance Today" will include in its Jan. 30 program an excerpt from a performance by guitarists Sergio and Odair Assad, recorded at the University of Richmond's Modlin Center for the Arts.

The duo played "Pieces de Clavecin" by J. Rameau at its Oct. 23, 2000, Modlin Center concert.

The program airs locally on NPR affiliate station WCVE (88.9 FM) from 9-11 a.m. "Performance Today" is carried at various times by other NPR affiliates around the country.

Brazilian-born brothers Sergio and Odair Assad, renowned for their technical ability, have been credited with reviving contemporary music for the guitar.
