University of Richmond Chancellor Richard L. Morrill receives leadership award from SACS

University of Richmond Chancellor Richard L. Morrill has been awarded the James T. Rogers Distinguished Leadership Award from the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
The award was presented at SACS' annual conference. The commission accredits colleges and universities in the South.
An active member of SACS for 10 years, Morrill has served as chair of its board of directors. He was president of Richmond for ten years before becoming chancellor and previously served as president of Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C., and Centre College in Danville, Ky.
Morrill is chairman of the boards of directors of the Teagle Foundation, Richmond Symphony Foundation and Tredegar Corp., as well a board member of Albemarle Corp. and Williamsburg Investment Trust. The author of several publications on liberal and higher education, Morrill's most recent book, "Strategic Leadership: Integrating Strategy and Leadership in Colleges and Universities," was published in 2007.
The Rogers award, the highest public honor given by SACS, recognizes outstanding leadership and involvement with the organization.
