University of Richmond School of Law to host Forum on Immigration Reform

February 16, 2007

On Tuesday, February 20, 2007, the University of Richmond School of Law will host a forum exploring the legal and political implications of comprehensive Immigration reform. Immigration reform has emerged as a highly contentious political and legal issue.

Two Virginia attorneys will discuss reform on both the state and national levels starting at 6:00 p.m. at the University of Richmond School of Law's Moot Court room. Tim Frielich is the legal director of the Virginia Justice Center for Farm and Immigrant Workers. The Virginia Justice Center provides support to low-wage immigrant workers in the commonwealth of Virginia.

Mr. Frielich will be joined by Mark Rhoads, director of the Immigration Practice Group of McCandlish Holton, a law firm based in downtown Richmond. Mr. Rhoads works primarily in securing greencards and visas for foreign workers to come to the United States. Mr. Rhoads is a graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law.

The event is free and open to the public and a reception will follow in the law school atrium. Sponsored by the Hispanic Community Legal Liaison Association, the American Constitution Society, and the International Law Students Association.
